Northwell's Walk to Raise Health at Jones Beach
When you participate in the Northwell Health Walk at Jones Beach, you help Cohen Children’s Medical Center and the Katz Institute for Women’s Health advance care for children and women in our communities.

Cohen Children’s Medical Center
Child and Adolescent Mental Health: Nearly one in five children has an emotional, behavioral or mental disorder. Sadly, only 20% of those diagnosed receive care. Cohen Children’s Medical Center is committed to addressing this growing crisis head on by creating an entirely new model of behavioral health for children. Funds from the Walk will support the creation of a new physical hub for behavioral health, designed around the needs of kids and teens.

The Chairman’s Research Award: Funds also fuel groundbreaking research at Cohen Children’s Medical Center through the Chairman’s Research Award. This award gives junior faculty and fellows the opportunity to tackle promising leads in nearly a dozen subspecialities at the children’s hospital. Every dollar you raise will empower our clinicians and scientists to innovate, push boundaries and contribute to a new, brighter chapter in pediatric health.

Katz Institute for Women’s Health
Your funds will continue to support comprehensive health services for women at every age and stage. Funds will go towards clinical programs at the Katz Institute for Women’s Health, including pelvic health, metabolic and autoimmune, and midlife and menopause care.

Northwell's Walk to Raise Health at East End
Proceeds raised for the Walk will support Peconic Bay Medical Center’s breast health programs and the new Emilie Roy Corey Center for Women and Infants.

Breast health programs: The Breast health program offers highly specialized breast health services for both women and men at any stage in their cancer journey. Your support will help provide the most advanced breast care in the region from the latest diagnostic procedures to the most innovative treatment options.

Emilie Roy Corey Center for Women and Infants: Support the creation of the Emilie Roy Corey Center for Women and Infants, including plans for a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a postnatal care unit, and a state-of-the-art delivery unit–all in one place. Your support will ensure that moms and their babies, and all women at every stage of life, can receive the care they need in Eastern Suffolk County.

Northwell's Walk to Raise Health at Port Jefferson
Proceeds from the Walk support Mather Hospital’s Fortunato Breast Health Center, a recognized leader in the fight against breast cancer.

Fortunato Breast Health Center: Your support helps us provide advanced screenings and detect cancer in its earliest, most treatable stages. Our radiologists exclusively interpret breast images, making them experts in their field. Fortunato screens thousands of women each year and participates in the Cancer Services Program of Suffolk County which offers free cancer screenings, diagnostic testing, and treatment plans for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers for those lacking adequate health insurance. Should one of our patients receive a cancer diagnosis, our nurse navigators assist in securing needed appointments and access to support programs.

Northwell's Walk to Raise Health at Staten Island
Proceeds from the Walk will support the Florina Cancer Center at Staten Island University Hospital, which diagnoses and treats approximately 30,000 hematology/oncology patients each year, making it one of the largest cancer programs in the New York metropolitan area.

Florina Cancer Center: With your support, we opened the new Florina Cancer Center last year to continue to bring every diagnostic and treatment  possible to our oncology patients and their families, right here at home.

Within the Florina Cancer Center, the Brian Halpin Pediatric Cancer Center provides a space for kids to be treated like kids. Your fundraising will help support this pediatric oncology unit with a child-friendly environment providing a state-of-the-art outpatient infusion suite and chemotherapy treatment center for children with cancer and blood related disorders. Your  support will also help us continue to bring the most cutting-edge clinical trials and state-of-the-art treatment options to our community.

Northwell's Walk to Raise Health at Westchester
Northern Westchester Hospital

One in five children experience an emotional, mental or behavioral health disorder every year. To address this, Northern Westchester Hospital and Northwell Health are increasing access to behavioral health care for children and adolescents. Our goal is to enhance a system of care – from education, prevention to treatment – that will address care gaps and enhance the well-being of the youth in our community.

Phelps Hospital
Phelps Hospital will raise money for the Westchester Community Paramedicine Program to improve access to care and reduce ER visits. Trained community paramedics will provide in-home medical services to vulnerable patients, supported by Northwell’s virtual ER service, primary care physicians, and specialists. This program will treat chronic conditions like diabetes, CHF, and COPD, utilizing Phelps’s emergency training infrastructure at the Frank and Lisina Hoch Center for Emergency Education. The initiative leverages Northwell Health’s telehealth services and its Center for Emergency Medical Services, the largest hospital-based ambulance service in the New York metro area.

All online donations will appear on a credit card statement as “Northwell Foundation”.

What if people want to give me cash?
It is safest and best for record keeping that your sponsors make all of their donations through our secure website using a credit card. If this is not possible, it is best for you to convert all cash received to checks or money orders. If you are unable to convert the cash, then please call your local Walk contact to arrange a time to drop the payment off at a Foundation Office.

I handed in my form with cash donations. Why aren’t all of my donors listed on the website scroll?
We are not able to list individual cash donations less than $50 on the website scroll. Only team names will appear on the scroll with the total amount raised. If you did not include your team name on your form, please call (516) 321-6331.

Only individual donations made online can be listed on the website scroll. If you would like a tax receipt for gifts of $10 or more, please send your name, address, email and gift amount to your local Walk contact.

Can I continue to collect donations after the Walk?
Absolutely, and you are encouraged to do so! The website will remain fully functional after the Walk, and donations may be made online at any time. All donations must be received on or before Friday, June 6, 2025.

Can I enter donations received via check to my fundraiser page?
Unfortunately, there isn’t an option for you to enter checks. However, once they are received at a Foundation office, we will process and add them to your fundraiser page.

If someone makes a donation to my personal page, will it be reflected on my team’s page?
Yes, any donation made to an individual who is a member of a team will count toward both the individual’s and team’s fundraising goal.

Can I change my personal and/or team fundraising goal once I have set it?
Yes, you may log into your personal and/or team fundraising pages at any time and increase or decrease your goal as necessary.

What happens if I am unable to reach the fundraising goal I have set for myself and/or my team?
While we encourage you to do everything you can to reach your goal, you will not be penalized if you do not reach the goal you set.
